Meet Amelia Schock, LPC-S, Owner and Clinician
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Michigan and a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in Texas. I specialize in helping families navigate the complex challenges of foster care, adoption, trauma, and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs). My passion lies in supporting individuals and families as they work through relational distress and build the connections they’ve always hoped for.
What led me to counseling?
With over 15 years of experience in child welfare, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of trauma, substance exposure, and system involvement on children and their families. My work in this space opened my eyes to the urgent need for mental health professionals who truly understand the intricacies of these systems and the unique experiences of those they serve.
I earned my Bachelor’s in Human Development and Family Studies and a Master’s in Counselor Education from Texas Tech University. These academic foundations and real-world experience have equipped me to support families through some of life’s most difficult – and transformative – seasons.
Who are my clients?
I specialize in working with:
- Children and Families involved in foster care and adoption
- Individuals affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASDs)
- Families experiencing trauma and relational distress
I’m especially passionate about helping families heal together, rebuild connections, and break generational cycles to create meaningful and lasting change.
What is my approach to therapy?
I approach therapy with warmth, compassion, and a deep respect for each person’s journey. My style is collaborative, non-judgmental, and rooted in empathy.
I integrate modalities such as:
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Attachment-Based Therapy
- Brain-Based and Strengths-Based approaches
You can expect genuine, grounded, and growth-oriented support in our sessions. I will gently help you reframe challenges, identify strengths, and try new strategies while reminding you that you control your story.
What’s it like to work with me?
My clients describe me as present, understanding, and encouraging. I create a safe, affirming space where you can unpack pain, explore new perspectives, and build the life and relationships you want. My goal is not just to help you heal, but to empower you to thrive.
Here’s a bit about me.
I’m a wife, a mom of two young kids, and a dog lover. Life at home is busy and full of joy! When I find quiet moments, I love curling up with a good book, sipping tea under a warm blanket, and spending time with my pups. I also enjoy refinishing furniture, interior design, and cozy movie nights.
Let’s begin your journey.
Whether you’re a caregiver, a parent, or someone navigating life’s complexities, I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll build understanding, connection, and hope for the future.
Meet Kelli Justusson, Licensed Professional Counselor
I have a heart for guiding teens, young adults, and families through life’s toughest seasons.
Whether you’re navigating trauma, adoption, and foster care dynamics, or simply trying to find your place in the world, I’m here to walk with you, with energy, empathy, and encouragement.
What led me to counseling?
Before becoming a therapist, I spent years as an educator in the public school system. It was there that I saw, day after day, just how deeply students and families needed mental health support.
That experience sparked a new passion in me – to step into the counseling space and help meet those emotional needs in a deeper, more lasting way.
With a BS in Elementary Education and an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, both from Tarleton State University, I blend my background in education with advanced training in trauma-informed care to support healing and resilience.
Who are my clients?
I specialize in working with:
- Teens and Young Adults, navigating identity, anxiety, or significant life transitions
- Foster and Adoptive Families, supporting attachment, trust, and adjustment
- Individuals healing from Trauma, including those impacted by early adversity
How do I approach counseling?
I bring energy, creativity, and compassion to every session. I meet clients where they are – emotionally, mentally, and developmentally – and stay with them as they move forward.
My work is grounded in:
- CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy)
- TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused CBT)
- TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention)
My approach is Solution-Focused. I love incorporating hands-on, engaging activities to connect with clients, especially those who may not respond to traditional talk therapy. Whether we’re exploring thought patterns, building coping skills, or working through trauma, I aim to make therapy a space of safety, growth, and even a little fun.
What’s it like to work with me?
Expect warmth. Expect energy. Expect someone who truly listens. I create an environment where clients feel seen, supported, and safe enough to be themselves. I value laughter, real talk, and staying present with you, no matter what you’re facing.
Here’s a bit about me.
When I’m not in the therapy room, I’m off adventuring with my husband and kids – we love traveling, especially to warm and tropical places! I also enjoy sewing, curling up with a good book, and making time to recharge so I can bring my best self to the work I love.
Let’s take the next step together.
If you or your child is looking for someone to help you process, heal, and grow, I’d be honored to be part of that journey. You don’t have to go through this alone.
Meet Carey Jo Davis, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Sports Counselor based in Texas. I work with teens, athletes, cancer patients, and survivors, and anyone navigating anxiety or life transitions. My approach is rooted in honesty, directness, and deep compassion – because healing starts with truth, and growth begins with choice.
What led me to counseling?
Becoming a counselor wasn’t just a career choice but a calling shaped by my life experiences. As a two-time breast cancer survivor, I understand firsthand what it means to face fear, uncertainty, and change. That journey taught me strength, empathy, and the value of authentic support – lessons I now bring into every client session.
Before counseling, I spent 19 years as a special education teacher, working closely with students with learning differences and emotional challenges. That experience helped me see the profound power of belief, consistency, and individualized care.
My passion for mental performance also led me to support athletes as they work through the pressures of competition, self-doubt, and anxiety, because mental strength is just as vital as physical training.
What is my approach to therapy?
I’m a solution-focused therapist who believes in keeping it real. My work is grounded in Reality Therapy and Choice Theory, and I help clients understand how their thoughts and choices shape their experience.
Together, we explore practical strategies that foster resilience, growth, and a renewed sense of control.
In session, you can expect:
- A safe, respectful space to be yourself
- Honest and compassionate feedback
- Tools that empower you to make meaningful change
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, dealing with a life-altering diagnosis, or striving to perform at your best, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Here’s a bit about me.
Outside the therapy room, I’m a proud single mom to a college student at Texas State University. My heart is happiest when I’m behind a camera lens, capturing the energy of sports or the spirit of graduating seniors. Family time, photography, and a good cup of coffee are a few of the things that keep me grounded and joyful.
Let’s connect.
I’d be honored to walk alongside you if you’re ready to begin your journey toward clarity, confidence, and healing. You don’t have to do this alone.
